Just thought I would post some pictures of the Chicago Cubs in action over the past week or so as they have played the role of spoiler in the National League. They all but eliminated both the St. Louis Cardinals and the San Diego Padres. Sweet!!!
Leaving 10 men on base and only scoring 1 run. Of course the White Sox left 12 men on base. Carlos Silva was the hard-luck loser, only giving up 2 runs on 7 hits and suffering his first loss of the season. And Mark Buehrle decided to pitch like he has been capable of in the past. A 2-1 loss for the Cubbies.
I think maybe Starlin Castro put a spell on the Cubs when he was called up from AA Tennessee. He made a debut that is fitting for a Hollywood movie. He hit a 3-run homer in his first at-bat, then later hit a bases loaded triple to drive in 6 RBI in his first game in the major leagues. Obviously, he didn't have any time to think about butterflies

Ted was the answer to all the Cubs questions. I just wish he wouldn't be so serious in the dugout, lefties aren't supposed to be that way.
Anyhow, the Cubs won 5-1 with Lilly going six shutout innings. Zambrano in the bullpen and all is well with Cubs Nation (at the moment) And Marlon Byrd is unbelievable!
